Not about sales but about shopping

Promotional code for Lumiere mineral makeup

I was directed to Lumiere mineral makeup after reading Vivawoman’s post about their baby soft kabuki brush. I read a few reviews online about Lumiere’s mineral foundation and thought to give it a try. I also chanced upon an online promotion code that gives you 20% off your total order.

At the check out, key in the code LOUIE and you will get 20% off. But you must make sure you are registered with them and have signed in.

I managed to save enough to cover the international shipping cost of $6 which is a great deal for me. So, if you are planning to place an order for Lumiere mineral makeup, try this code for savings.

I’m not sure how long it is valid for but as of yesterday 29 August 2007 it was working fine.

50% off trial facial at Kanebo Salons

I reviewed the Kanebo International beauty salons on my main site, and while I was doing so, I decided to try to get my readers a sweet deal so you can all try the facial service for yourself (I get nothing from this – just to be clear).

If you are interested in trying out a facial or body treatment at the Kanebo International Salon, quote the following promotion.

kanebo salon

From now until 31 October 2007 readers of “My Women Stuff” are entitled to a discount of 50% off your first trial facial. Call the salon of your choice below to make a booking and let them know that you were referred from “My Women Stuff” website. If its your first time, you will be entitled to a 50% discount off your first trial facial or body treatment.

Here are the contact numbers of the Kanebo International salons in Malaysia:

Bangsar – 03-2292 1218

Starhill Gallery – 03-2144 1218

Gurney Plaza – 04-227 7618

If you are going to take advantage of the 50% discount promotion, I’d recommend trying the Silk Extract Collagen Hydra-Energylift Treatment which usually retails for RM348 for 90 minutes. This facial uses a skin lifting machine and the Kanebo silk cream and silk powder that usually retail for over RM700 for a set. The skin feels smooth and hydrated for days after the treatment. This was the last set of treatments I used and I found it very good for my skin.

For acne prone or oily skin with clogged pores, you may be recommended the Deep Purifying Facial Treatment (usual RM128) where they help extract pimples and clogged pores. Regular treatments do help reduce problems with their skin as someone I know has found.

Even if you don’t want to continue with further facials, at least you get to pamper yourself for a couple of hours at a hefty discount :) Tell all your friends about it and remember, this promotion is only until 31 October 2007!

Careful with Ebay links too!

I previously posted a warning
about not clicking on links purportedly coming from Paypal. This time, my warning is similar, but related to links purportedly coming from Ebay.com.

If you own an Ebay account, you may sometimes get emails purporting to be from Ebay, telling you to update your account information. Like Paypal, Ebay will always address you by your name that you registered with. They will never refer to you as “Dear Ebay Member” or “Dear (username)”. It will always be “Dear (your name)”.

Similarly, if in doubt, log into your ebay account by typing ebay’s address into your browser address bar. If you don’t have a warning message there, then its likely your email is a hoax. Whatever you do (real email or not) do not click on email links or risk getting your account hijacked.

If you aren’t an ebay member then, um… I guess you have nothing to worry about! :)

Pay attention to your cashier lane

This post is inspired by an experience I had and from here. Both incidents happened at Carrefour in MidValley Megamall.

In many supermarkets these days, there are usually certain designated lanes for cash only purchases or express lanes for people buying 10 items or less. These lanes are designed to speed up the payment process so customers do not have to wait in line so long to pay for say, a bottle of water.

Unfortunately, there are people who like to spoil it for others by failing to read the sign that says “10 items or less” or who intentionally try to bulldoze they way through with a trolleyload of items. It then comes to the cashiers to enforce the ruling. However, many don’t and these rude people get away with it.

The next time you go to a supermarket, please read the signs at the cashier. If you have more than the necessary items to join the express lane, or intend to pay by credit card, please do not pretend that you cannot read or cannot understand the signs. It takes all of us to make shopping a much more pleasant experience.
