Isetan’s Hokkaido Summer fair

isetan

I discovered the Isetan Hokkaido Summer fair at Isetan Kuala Lumpur last year. Since then, I’ve been on the lookout for it again this year.

My reason for looking out for it?

<– This - Flake Seasoning

Last year when I was browsing through the stuff on offer, there was a little Japanese lady who was quickly making Onigiri (rice balls) at this counter. She told me in limited English, that I could use the seasoning to make onigiri at home. I was sold!

What it is is essentially a mixture of seasonings, ranging from little silver whitebait to flaked scallops mixed with various other bits of seasoning that only the Japanese can make. It is absolutely heavenly, and I had a great time making onigiri at home with it. One packet retails for RM25 which is quite pricey, but you don’t use very much. I have been planning to go back this year to get some but haven’t found the time yet. I should hurry though because the fair is ending on 26th August 2007 and won’t come around again till next year!

If you go there, you could possibly look at (I can’t afford to buy them!) these super expensive ice-creams and cheese cake!

Where to buy Kanebo Lunasol - update

This is an update to Where to buy Kanebo Lunasol makeup that I previously posted.

I made my enquiries of Kanebo and I append here an excerpt of an email reply I received from Kanebo regarding the sale of Lunasol.

Perhaps I should give you a bit of background info on LUNASOL. It’s the makeup brand under our new concept counter, called SAKURA COUNTER. Sakura Counter is composed of 2 colors – PINK, as Sakura flower, and BROWN, as Sakura trunk. Besides, Sakura Counter also carries the new Skincare brand, called IMPRESS. Sakura Counter is exclusively for Isetan at this moment. That’s why it’s only available at Lot 10. However, Sakura Counter will also be available at Mid Valley from End September onwards when Isetan opens their new outlet at Garden City, Mid Valley.

So, it looks as if Kanebo Lunasol will only be available at Isetan for now. There is no indication of it being sold at Isetan KLCC though. I wonder why…

As an aside, I have tried the new Impress skincare and I am, in a word, Impress-ed! A review will be coming up soon on My Women Stuff.

Be careful when using Paypal

If you shop online or deal on Ebay, you will be familiar with Paypal. Paypal is an online payment feature that allows people to make payment and receive payment just by using an email address . No account numbers or credit card numbers are disclosed, except to Paypal, to verify your account.

Paypal is now accepted at many online shopping sites. This makes it secure in a way, as you don’t have to disclose your credit card information to the online sellers.

However, do beware, when you use Paypal. There are many false emails floating around which are “phishing” emails. These emails do not originate from Paypal and are intended to steal your login information thereby giving them access to your actual Paypal account and finance details.

Here are some things to look out for:

  • Authentic emails from Paypal will be sent to your address registered with Paypal only.
  • Paypal will always address you by your name registered with Paypal.

If you are in doubt, never click on the link given in the email. Go to the actual Paypal site and login. If there is a problem with your account, you will be notified on the site itself.

Always be alert and remember - DO NOT CLICK ON EMAIL LINKS!

If you keep this in mind, using Paypal for online shopping is great!
