Not about sales but about shopping

Buying direct from the USA with vPost

How many times have you browsed into a shopping site and eagerly clicked to buy, only to find that they only ship within the USA? Or maybe you are looking for something on Ebay and found a great deal but the seller will not ship outside of the USA?Now, you can shop online at USA online stores or on Ebay through vPost and HSBC.

Singaporeans should be familiar with vPost. They have a similar service through their SingPost. Now, HSBC is bringing that vPost service to us Malaysians. Great for expanding the shopping avenues, bad for our wallets!

What the vPost service essentially does is give you a USA shipping address where you can get your purchases shipped to. Then, at this address, the items will be sent on to you here in Malaysia. Its like a forwarding service.

The shipping charges are hefty though.

But I suppose if you really want something from the USA that you can’t get here, or if it works out cheaper to get it from there even after adding on all the extra shipping costs, then its worth it. I have a few brands in mind which I just know will be cheaper even after all the add-ons.

I have a HSBC credit card but I haven’t signed up yet. I don’t want to give in to temptation just yet ;)
