How I deal with the 4GB EeePC limited memory
Earlier on when I was being a sour grape and whining about my 4GB EeePc, I failed to mention how I got around the little itty bitty bit of 4GB computer memory in that little baby.
What I and many other people do, is use a thumb drive or pendrive. These days, pen drives go all the way beyond 16GB which is 4 times the capacity of the EeePC hard drive! Others use a portable hard drive, which I don’t because a portable hard drive is much more expensive than a pen drive. True, a pen drive is not always 100% stable all the time and can be easily corrupted, still, I don’t use it to store important information but rather to use it to transport my files from one computer to another.
People who have used the portable hard drive have even been able to run the older EeePC on Windows XP which is saying a lot, because Windows takes up a LOT of memory! I haven’t gotten round to trying it. Perhaps I should. Even prices of portable hard drives have come down
