Elianto and Bonita Warehouse Sale!
I was at Taman Shamelin Perkasa yesterday when I passed by the Bonita warehouse and saw they were having a sale! It started on 12th Dec 2008 and will end on 21 Dec 2008 and they are open 10am-7.30pm.
Bonita is a company selling costume jewellery and accessories here in Malaysia and they also own Elianto the budget cosmetics line. At normal times, an Elianto eyeshadow costs a mere RM5. At the sale it was RM5 for 2!
Ditto nail polish and there was also brush rolls (rm6) shower gels (RM7), masks, eye liners, cream shadows etc.
If you want hair accessories, I saw hair clips going for 3 for RM5 which was a bargain. There were also some clothes and toys but I did not pay attention to those.
If you know where the MO Outlet is, its just in the next road at a corner. You won’t miss it and its not as crowded as all the other warehouse sales I’ve been to. Happy Shopping!
Banana Republic Sale in stores and extra discounts
The FJ Benjamin warehouse sale was just over a month ago where I’m sure lots of people snapped up Banana Republic merchandise at a bargain. Well, if you missed it, fret no longer, because Banana Republic is on sale again! This time, in the store.
I just got an SMS message telling me that if you use your Visa card, you will receive an additional 10% off. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask me. I’m not sure however if its ALL Visa cards or just restricted to one bank. The text message did not say.
I wonder if they have this oversize clutch that I have been eyeing from Banana Republic.

I absolutely love the colour – teal is so me!
Since Banana Republic is brought in by the same people who bring in La Senza perhaps I could pick up some discount lingerie too. Actually I’m more interested in the pyjamas. There were none to be had at the warehouse sale that fit (too big) or that I liked. Somehow those flimsy floaty see-through pieces just aren’t me. Give me a comfy pair of cotton jammies any day!
When shopping can be a little home business

I’ve recently had a friend in the USA shop online for me. It was for a bunch of stuff and brands I can’t get here in Malaysia and something I’ve been wanting for a long time. I was lucky that she was lovely enough to do it all for me without charging me extra like some others have.
Some Malaysians living overseas have turned from doing friends a favour by shopping for them, to a small business opportunity where they buy certain items and then sell them on to their friends or online for a profit. I personally know of someone who has been doing this for years and turning a small profit as she goes along, without having to declare anything. For a housewife, she’s doing pretty well! I can’t say its a bad thing, to be honest. Heaven knows, there are so many things I want from other countries which I can’t get here, and if the mark up is within my budget, I don’t mind paying.
Because there is a return policy on goods overseas, I have also seen people who buy certain items (especially branded goods) on sale and then sell them on. While we might not get it at the exact sale price, it can still be markedly cheaper than buying it on sale or at retail in Malaysia.
For all the legitimate entrepreneurs out there, I take my hats off to you. If you want to buy such items off online sites, do be careful that you are paying for the real thing. And if you are, relish your bargain purchase!
Tis the season for sales sales sales
This was never supposed to be a blog about sales but with Christmas fast approaching, its hard to ignore the many Christmas sales that are going on around us. I just got the Isetan newsletter yesterday with their Christmas promotions, which are of course tempting, but I’m getting a grip of my wallet lest it runs out of hand.
If you are still doing Christmas shopping, a good place to start is always Shopping n Sales where I am seeing many ongoing sales for Tangs and even for baby products. With babies, I reckon the most costs go towards disposable diapers for the convenience factor. I know I would get them too despite them being not very environmentally friendly. Still, if you have seen some of the cloth diapers available with the cute animal velvet covers, I might even change my mind
So, how are your Christmas shopping coming along? I don’t celebrate but I’m getting some gifts for friends and I’m still not done! OMG!
