Not about sales but about shopping

Digital travel

I’m doing a major test of blogging on the go soon. I’m taking my baby EeePC with me on a trip with its paltry 4MB laptop memory (Yes I own one of the first generation ones that still run on linux). To be on the safe side I’m also carrying a pendrive with at least 16G on it.

I’m not sure if I can run my photo editing software on the pendrive you see or on Linux. I’m really going to have to check it out before I go. Else I’d not be able to edit any pictures which would be a pity! And that would also mean that I’d have to build up my arsenal of posts.

I also need to get a bigger memory SD card for the camera. Any recommendations?

Bedat & Co Luxury Watches Sold to Malaysian Company

I saw on WWD that luxury watch brand Bedat & Co has been sold to a Malaysian firm, Luxury Concepts Watches & Jewellery Sdn Bhd. (link) Bedat & Co was previously owned by the Gucci group. (news here)

My first thought when I read this bit of news was “Oh my! We in Malaysia can actually afford it in these times?!” So I looked up the Luxury Concepts company and saw that they are the ones behind the luxury brand watches in Starhill Gallery. These are the stores where you can go to buy your Patek Philippe and Armand Nicolet and other brands I’d never heard of in the mainstream market.

Is this an achievement? Well, put it this way. When will you ever see Gucci, luxury and Malaysia in the same sentence again? We hit the main fashion retail news for once!

Metrojaya Branded Fragrances and Cosmetics Sale

Larger Version click here.

I did not know about this one, but apparently, there is a Branded Cosmetics and Fragrances sale at The Weld held by Metrojaya. I don’t know what’s on offer.

During the previous Metrojaya warehouse sale, there were reports that Stila was on offer for rock bottom prices. Stila! Might it be available at this one too? I don’t know.

Don’t expect to see anything for vaginal dryness – that’s too specialized to be sold at a warehouse sale. :P Expect however to see lots of coffret sets of perfumes and maybe some cosmetics brands.

Venue: Event Hall, The Weld, Kuala Lumpur
Date: Feb 17-19, 2009
Time: 10am-7pm

Be warned that traffic is very heavy around this area especially during office hours.

Bosch warehouse sale

When I came across an upcoming Bosch household applicances sale (link), I was curious about it. I haven’t seen many household applicances sale of late.

What puzzled me however was that there were no items stated in the ad. Now if I’m not mistaken, Bosch sells electrical items not kitchen fittings like discount faucets. So, I guess we are looking at toasters and ovens and coffee makers and the like.

Still, I think it would have been good if the ad mentioned some examples of what was being offered or at least if there is a picture showing what Bosch sells. Not everyone knows that Bosch is connected to electrical items.

On the other hand, I always thought they were involved with drills :P
