Not about sales but about shopping

Staying in Macau hotels

riviera hotel macau

On my last trip to Macau, I stayed at Riviera Hotel. There’s no internet presence, but do not be confused with the Riviera hotel in Vegas. I suspect they share the same name because in Macau, casinos are plenty and many originate from Vegas. However, this hotel I stayed in had no casino in it.

The Riviera Hotel is quite a distance from the rest of the casinos so if you’re there to gamble or have a little fun, I suggest you stay on the casino belt where you get the bigger hotels like Lisboa or MGM or even the Venetian. I wish I could afford that – the rooms are the Venetian look awesome but I don’t have thousands to throw on a hotel stay neither do I have the sort of luck that would win me a stay there.

So my tips for travelling to Macau is to decide on what you are there for and plan accordingly. I was there purely as a stopover to Hong Kong where my real interest lies so where I sleep doesn’t bother me one bit!

Prices of cosmetics in Malaysia are lower

Its when I read all those sales at Sephora that I feel like hopping on a plane for Vegas vacations. I had the chance once a couple of years back when a relative offered me the opportunity to visit Las Vegas. I was a little too silly not to accept it :P

But sale or not, with the rising USD things aren’t all that cheap anymore. Many items on Sephora or otherwise are actually cheaper in Malaysia in terms of cosmetics. Gone are the days when it was more expensive to shop at the beauty halls of Malaysian department stores.

Factor in warehouse sales and you have a winning recipe. Which reminds me. There’s a L’oreal luxury warehouse sale this weekend. Want to join the madness? Feel free to queue!

Why don’t we have websites for brands in Malaysia?

Before I share some information with you, I’d like to rant a little. Not about weightloss pills and how they don’t or do work, but about why international brands don’t seem to have a web presence in Malaysia.

I’d been hunting high and low for the information for L’Occitane Malaysia’s latest promotion which is the Provence Market promotion. I’d seen it in the stores – a cute canvas bag with a set of travel sized lotions and creams retailing for RM159.

I’d say its a pretty good deal if you like L’Occitane or if you want to get something from there to try or if you have a plane trip planned. I just can’t find this information online which is a real bummer! L’Occitane Singapore has a website – why don’t we?

Goodbye Stila Malaysia

I don’t know if Stila will be back soon, but for now, Stila is saying goodbye to Malaysia.

As part of their goodbye gift, you can now pick up Stila products at heavily discounted prices from all Stila counters nationwide. News is that nothing is priced more than RM70 which means most of the palettes are now RM70 which is an excellent deal!

I checked out the Stila counter at Isetan The Gardens yesterday and the single eyeshadows are only RM25 each. If you like Stila eyeshadows, you are going to love them even more at these awesome prices.

So it isn’t exactly a mind boggling breakthrough in Mesothelioma treatment but you might want to whip out your credit cards for some Stila goodies. I personally am not so into Stila anymore so I only got 1 eyeshadow I’d been wanting for a while. Otherwise, I just gave everthing else a miss.

Some girls have done huge damage to the counter – they could probably set up their own Stila counter at home! :D But if you do use the products and you like them and will be sad that Stila is no longer going to be available in Malaysia, then nows the time to stock up on your Stila goodies.
