Not about sales but about shopping

When you need a sale it never happens

The thing about knowing a little DIY is that you always want to get the best for your home. Not much point tinkering with some sub standard quality item if you are going to break your back and rack your brains wondering how to get something to fit.

So, of course, I’d rather replace my leaky faucet with a Grohe faucet than a generic brand from the hardware store. Problem is, unless we hit up a Grohe warehouse sale (they do have them but rarely) I’m going to have to make do for the time being.

Bummer.

An Orthopedic bed for dogs?

I don’t own a pet so pet beds and pet supplies are things beyond my ken. Yet, while I was browsing online I came across an Orthopedic pet bed for dogs (see link).

Firstly, I thought it looked like a normal doggie bed. Secondly, I’m not sure what an Orthopedic bed is. For humans, orthopedic shoes are usually for people with problems relating to their feet.

As dogs have 4 feet, I’m curious as to what sorts of problems they can have that would necessitate a special bed be built for them. Still, it does look pretty comfy doesn’t it?

Saving up for jewels

You see a pair of gorgeous crystal earrings like these and suddenly its better than the most effective diet pills because you’d restrict your food intake so you spend less.

When you spend less, you save more. And when you save more, you can afford these jewels! That said, these are Oroton and cost AU$145 which isn’t exactly bank breaking just yet. If these were real diamonds or precious stones… by golly! You’d be eating grass for the rest of your life! :P

Before we had the iPhone

… the unlocked phone was already available here! I used to see it in Sg. Wang Plaza where all the phone stalls seem to congregate.

I remember asking the stall owner where it came from and they would tell me it was an AP phone. I’m not sure what AP stands for but it means “underwater” or phones not covered by the usual distributor warranty. Ok if you don’t mind the fact that if things go belly up you can’t take it back to the original store.

That said, I was just thinking about this because I recently saw someone carrying an iPnone. Yep. It was from China so alarm bells were ringing. He got it for a mere RM500 and works exactly like the iPhone.

I dunno. Somehow an iPnone just doesn’t cut it :P
