Not about sales but about shopping

Koi Centre

Have you been to the Sentul Koi centre? Its quite an interesting place to go to if only to gawk at the HUGE koi you can see at the centre. The plainer koi or carp are found in the outer ponds where you can see the 3 layer pond filters that filter the water for the fish. Yes these fish need triple filtered water not normal filtered water.

The nicer koi are kept at the back and some people actually house their koi there until they build their own pond or they send their sick koi to be treated here. There’s a japanese restaurant which is servicable and its actually rather quiet and a nice place to relax.

Entry is free.

car insurance shopping

When the end of the year comes around, thats when I start looking around for auto insurance quotes. Its disheartening to see the value of the car depreciate so quickly from year to year and knowing that you don’t ever really get anything back if you insure it for a higher price.

After all, if there’s any total loss to the car, they’d still revalue it and you still won’t get back all that you insured the car for. That probably explains why after a few years some people just insure the car for 3rd party insurance instead of comprehensive insurance. Its a lot cheaper though if anything happens to your car, you’d have to bear the cost.

medication options

I was at the hospital recently having my injured toe looked at and since nothing could be done, I declined the ointment the doctor offered to prescibe me. I asked if I could use any regular ointment and the answer was yes so I figured why spend more money than necessary? Its not like I get a Medifast discount. In fact I found I could not use my medical card because it was meant for in-patient treatment only. So if I were hospitalized then yes, everything would be free. Otherwise, I’d still have to pay.

Lucky for me it wasn’t expensive so I didn’t mind paying a little for peace of mind. A lot and I’d have had to think twice!

Shopping for seafood?

I’ve been going to Pantai seafood quite often in the recent weeks. Playing havoc with a diet I can tell you! Not even the best diet pills can take care of all this excessive eating – but we have good reasons of course. Birthdays, celebrations etc etc…

Anyway I remembered that the company that runs Pantai Seafood used to have a restaurant in the heart of KL where they would sell the live seafood and charge you a small fee to cook it. This was where someone I know bought live oysters cheap to impress their girlfriend at the time. Strangely, the person wishing to impress did not do any cooking nor did he shuck the oysters himself. Afraid to get his hands dirty or something? :P

Anyway, I’m not sure if Pantai too sells the live seafood but I guess since they don’t charge you anything extra to cook it we might as well just enjoy it there eh? :)
