Not about sales but about shopping

Back to the days of curative suffering

Here’s another interesting health fad I read about – colon cleansers. Sounds pretty eww eh?

When you think about it, such treatments for everything from slimming to general health has been in existence since the days of spas when mad doctors would treat their patients in remote spas by immersing them in salt and having water blasted at them from various directions. Ok reading the colon cleanse reviews these days, its not so dramatic anymore – thank goodness!

It still sounds pretty gruesome all the same no?

Fitness ad on radio

There’s been an ad on the radio recently for a store selling fitness equipment like treadmills and the like. The ad has one woman in a very “pat poh” voice commenting on how another woman looks so svelte and fit and saying she must have had expensive treatment – over here this usually implies slimming treatment as opposed to invasive surgery.

Anyway the woman says her son bought her the fitness equipment hence she can stay fit right in her home. But her voice doesn’t sound old enough to have a son old enough to buy her an expensive piece of fitness eqiupment! Thats the thing that bugs me :P I know how much these fitness equipment cost – an arm and a leg! Oh well then again there are 0% installment payments these days :P

Diet pill work?

Are there any diet pills that work? That’s a common question women ask.

Yes diet pills work – to a degree. I’ve read of pills which are medically prescribed to those who are obese. I’ve personally seen it but I can tell you that it did not help them lose weight. Perhaps they were too obese or perhaps they did not have self control, I’m not sure.

On the flip side I know of people who have taken diet pills and it helps them lose the initial weight but they still need exercise to maintain it, stay healthy and tone up their body. So really yes diet pills (based on medical prescriptions) do work but don’t expect to take them for the long term!

Will you buy lingerie online?

I have and after a few experiences with online shopping for lingerie both locally and internationally, I’m ready to say I won’t.

The reason is because I’ve found that different brands have different cutting for their lingerie and what might be your usual size might just end up being something else when you get it. You could be a B Cup for the bra but when you get it, you wonder how on earth you’re going to fit into the huge B cups you receive. Or you get something that says its lightly padded and find that its so thinly padded its as good as not padded.

The worst are the lace ones. I got bra sets that are so flimsy as not to hold anything up. So, I’ve given up. I know online shopping for lingerie is a boon for those who are conscious about their weight or body who might be the same people who take weight loss pills in hopes to lose weight.

But I say nothing beats the actual experience of going into a lingerie store, trying on something and finding something that FITS. Its your hard earned money. Don’t throw it all away.
