Not about sales but about shopping

earth hour

So there’s a lot of hype about Earth Hour again this year. If you aren’t aware, that’s tomorrow 27 March 2010 where you are supposed to switch off your lights for 1 hour at 8-9pm. I’m not so sure about that – last year’s looked like a flop with a lot of stores making quick bucks from running “Earth Hour” special sales where you can have purportedly green shopping in the dark.

Me? I’m staying at home. Whether my lights will be on will be another story :P

No new balls

Someone I spoke to told me that rarely to normal golfers buy new golf balls. Many of them get used golf balls because the balls go missing so often.

Apparently there is a little business going on where caddies will take time out to recover balls on the course, clean them up and then sell them on to golfers on a budget. A bit ironic to me. Golf isn’t a cheap game to start with. They’d pay hundreds or even thousands for their clubs. But they’d buy 2nd hand balls?

From shoes to treadmills

I find it interesting that a shoe company would branch into fitness equipment. I’ve been hearing ads on the radio recently for the Reebok treadmill that you can use at home. It even has some slot for memory that you can use to help you train or something like that. I forget what it is.

But I think it fascinating anyway. Are we going to be seeing Nike treadmills coming up next?

Close but no cigar

Its interesting. Here I was stumbling across a product called neutrogena skin id and the website featured is nothing about the item or anything about the brand in question.

In fact I was just wondering what line of products Neutrogena was manufacturing. Apparently its a line of skincare for acne skin but you couldn’t have guessed reading that site.

Makes you wonder just what sorts of sites are out there eh?
