Not about sales but about shopping

How about a photograph as a gift?

Something that I like to consider for gift giving is photographs. You can either blow up a favourite photograph and frame it nicely for your family and friends or get a special photo taken.

These days, gone are the days of stiff posed family portraits where everyone is standing stiffly to attention with uncomfortable smiles on their faces hoping they don’t fall out of formation while the old photographer fiddles with his camera.

These days, more people are opting for casual shots in parks or in informal settings where everyone feels and looks comfortable and happy. Locally, there are a number of photographers online that do such shots, or you can look into wedding studios. They do family shots too not just wedding shots. Elsewhere you can look at a href=”http://www.jenniferangeloro.com/”>Fort Myers photographer to get the shots that you want. Its important to check their portfolio first to see if their style suits yours.

If it does, you’d probably have a ton of lovely photos that everyone would enjoy taking and putting up on their walls – and it makes a great gift for parents :)

Gifts for Dad

Father’s Day is coming. I think its next weekend – you can tell we don’t place much score on these “days” in my family :P When I was younger, we would make the attempt to look for gifts and one of the things that really gave us a headache was finding a gift for Father’s Day.

I mean look at the gift selection offered by Isetan.

gifts

Out of the 20 gifts under RM100 on offer, 4 are food related – a sushi platter, coffee, set lunch at a restaurant and beer (!) If your dad was a leading Mesothelioma lawyers I don’t think he’d appreciate much you bringing home a 6 pack of beer and saying “Happy Father’s Day Dad!”

See what I mean about it being hard to get gifts for Dad? The other gift ideas were ties, shirts, pens, key chains… and it makes you think. If i’ve given Dad one of each of the items in the last 4 years, what on earth am I going to give him this year? Its not like he’s lost any one fo them! So for us, its a meal and spending time with Dad… which we do most of the time anyway so Father’s Day does pass us by somewhat.

Crabtree & Evelyn Mother’s Day gift sets

Crabtree & Evelyn does some of the best gift sets around. I have not met anyone who isn’t smiling wide upon receiving a gift from Crabtree & Evelyn.

For Mother’s Day, Crabtree & Evelyn has come out with their hatbox sets – round boxes filled with Crabtree & Evelyn signature bath and body goodies in Lavender, Rosewater, Summer Hill and Nantucket Briar!

Get them now for only RM165 a set. Each set includes:-

# Soap Leaves for Travel
# Hand Therapy Shea Butter Hand Cream
# Body Lotion
# Bath & Shower Gel
# Body Powder
# Triple Milled Soap
# Oval Hat Box

Ok, so we don’t wear hats here in Malaysia, but the pretty boxes will make Mom happy to keep all her little momentos.

On top of that, if you spend RM250 and above, you will receive a complimentary teatime set comprising cookies, tea and honey. I really like the cookies from Crabtree & Evelyn. They are very tasty and make a nice teatime snack.

So, if you still don’t know what to get Mom for Mother’s Day, head on down to the nearest Crabtree & Evelyn store and see what you can pick up there.

p/s I personally recommend the Hand Therapy Cream if you really don’t know what to get. It softens hands immediately and keeps them soft and smooth. Awesome stuff!
