Ok I’ve been getting some weird questions so I thought I”d better answer it. I took over this blog a while ago. I thought I liked the shopping name in the title. Turns out I just like to shop, not necessary talk about it. Like how to find good blu ray ciplaks. Doesn’t exist does it?

So i’m sorry if you came here looking for tips on where to shop. There might be some left behind. I never bothered to clear out the archives because I like confusing people – hah!

You know I was coughing so badly during the week that I thought I’d need emergency medical assistance once. I could barely breathe! Lucky for me HB was around so he could thump me on the back. You think that’s weird? But it works. I think it dislodges the mucus or phlegm or something.

Anyway I’m feeling a lot better now, thanks to a nice cocktail of drugs I’m taking to keep everything at bay. Gotta get well soon! I have something nice to look forward to!

A friend’s son just had a kid. When I say the son had a kid, I mean the son’s wife had a kid Its the first grandchild so as you might expect, there is going to be a big party over the weekend.

HB suggested we buy gold coins as a gift. They sell these gold coins that you can buy, which are more or less pure gold so it acts as an investment. Maybe one day when the kid grows up, he can sell them and use the money. After all its gold. Gold never depreciates! Wish someone had given me gold coins when I was a baby

In my cough mixture drugged stupor, i found myself watching this show on astro discovery channel about steel buildings. I didn’t know that the American economy really boomed only after they started building skyscrapers with steel because bricks can only take you so far.

Locally, the Petronas Twin Towers are made of steel and they were once the tallest buildings in the world. Yet I still see buildings built using concrete locally. I wonder why they don’t go the way of steel? Why not learn from the USA?

Never really thought about the amount of drugs we ingest everytime we fall sick. Do you? I didn’t until I started the flu. From the flu it became a sore throat, so on top of drugs like clarinase i had to take antibiotics. Then it became a cough so i had to take cough mixture – 2 different types to really cure it.

I wonder if there are alternatives locally like the wellness sort of clinic at hcg Austin that I came across online. That said, I tried a “wellness clinic” once. the doctor gave me minimal medication but warned me that there might be something wrong with my lungs. Hello? that was a new one on me. I didn’t go back

Now excuse me while I go cough my lungs out

HB’s sister is going to Norway on holiday – can you say JEALOUS?!?! She works in Singapore so to her all these exotic holidays are relatively affordable. She’s going to some excursion that puts on you a dog sled and sleep in a ice hotel and see the Northern Lights!!

I’ve always wanted to see the Northen Lights *pouts* I wonder if HB will take me. I think i’d look so cute in snow boots and a snow bunny outfit

I’m on the search for the best eye cream there is. Yesterday HB told me I had lines around my eyes. WHAT??!! How can he tell me something like that?!

Knowing how vain I am, he should not tell me things like this So yesterday evening, after buka puasa with friends, I dragged HB to the mall to look for an eye cream.

Friend suggested trying the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Another said Kiehl’s worked. I looked at both but I didn’t get any. I’m getting HB to get it because he caused this! Grr… So which do I get?!

I’ve noticed that there seems to be fewer new slimming centers these days. The latest fad seems to be detox centers which seems to be gaining popularity.

Unlike slimming which is only for you getting thin (not necessarily healthily) detox centers also help to promote health. I haven’t really seen detox centers locally. There might be some with Chinese names. They are also usually health related and they sometimes host free talks where you can go and test out machines that help you detoxify and stay healthy.

I passed by one yesterday. It was in the middle of a shop lot, had no name and was swarming with lots of aunties. Its the place my mom might be interested to pop by… and to walk out with a machine or two. I’d better not tell her about it

Shall I be thick skinned and ask HB to buy flowers for me here? No special ocassion. Why do we need one to have flowers?!

I love Tulips and they are really hard to get here where its so hot. HB was really lovely and got me some during the Mother’s Day promo by KLM. RM5 a stalk but he said it was alright because it was also for charity. Aww….

Anyway coming back to me. Ahem I think I shall send him the link and see what he says.

HB had some rascal bump into the back of his car a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to talk about it here but things got so hectic I forgot. Anyway it was a kid driving his mom’s car. Kid was scared to death but when Mom came into the picture she refused to settle the matter.

So HB went off to lodge a report and to file his car insurance claims. Did you know that you don’t really need to know the insurance company of the other party? you can file it with your own car insurance company and they’ll handle it for you. To our surprise, it was relatively painless and we’re just informed to pick up our cheque.

Ultimately yes, it was a hassle but at least our car got fixed for nothing except time on our end.
